The digital world can sometimes feel like an unfamiliar jungle.
There isn’t a perfect route.
But with the right compass, a reliable map, and someone to shine a torch along the path, families don’t have to navigate it alone.
That’s why I created Navigating the Digital Jungle.
I’m Sue Atkins – parenting expert, broadcaster, author and speaker,
For over 25 years I’ve been helping families, schools and organisations navigate the challenges of modern childhood. Today, that journey includes smartphones, social media, AI and the fast-changing digital world.
As a former Deputy Headteacher, I understand both the classroom and the kitchen table, I combine professional expertise with real – life parenting experience to offer practical, reassuring advice that works in everyday family life – not just in theory.
Through Navigating the Digital Jungle, I’ve created a trusted hub of Expeditions, Field Guides, Campfire Conversations, Stories from the Digital Jungle and practical Explorer Packs to help parents, educators and employers raise confident, reslient children in a connected world,
Whether I’m speaking on stage, appearing on television, recording a podcast or working alongside nurseries, schools and organisations, my mission is simple:
To help families navigate technology with confidence, curiosity and connection.
From local schools to international conferences, I help families, educators and organisations navigate the opportunities and challenges of raising children in a digital world.
I’ve spoken for schools, businesses, charities and education organisations across the UK and internationally, bringing practical, evidence-based advice that audiences can put into action immediately.
Whether I’m delivering an Expedition keynote, leading Campfire Conversations, or providing Guided Navigation, my focus is always the same: helping people feel more confident, connected and prepared.

The digital world isn’t going away – and neither is childhood.
I don’t believe technology is the enemy. Nor do I believe parents need to strive for perfection.
I believe families need something far more valuable: confidence, connection, conversation and practical guidance.
Every family is different. There isn’t one right path through the Digital Jungle. My role isn’t to tell you exactly what to do. It’s to help you find your own way.
That’s why everything I create – has one purpose: to bring people together through conversation. Whether it’s Together at the Table, my children’s storybooks, Stories from the Digital Jungle, practical Field Guides, Explorer Packs, Campfire Conversations or my keynote Expeditions, each is designed to help families, schools and organisations navigate modern life with confidence.
One idea sits at the heart of everything I do: Together at the Table.
I believe some of life’s most important conversations happen when we truly slow down, put distractions aside and truly listen to one another. Around the dinner table, in the classroom, at work, or on stage, meaningful conversations build connection, confidence, belonging and resilience.
In a fast- moving digital world, creating space to talk and listen may be one of the most powerful things we can do.
Whether you’re a parent looking for reassurance, a school planning a parent event, an organisation supporting working families, or a conference looking for an engaging speaker, I’d love to hear from you.
Here’s what parents, educators, schools and organisations have to say about working with me.
Sue has a wonderful warmth that allows people to open up and share their own personal experiences and show vulnerabilities. It was a great session and exactly what we imagined when we decided we wanted to face into this topic with the John Lewis Partnership Working Parents Network. We loved working with you.

As a former teacher and nursery owner myself, I am often found giving advice to parents. However, sometimes you get lost in your own parenting journey and Sue was very effective in providing tips to keep us busy working Mums on track. My main lesson from Sue is that as parents, we also have to be good to ourselves. If we are looking after our own well-being, this positively benefits all aspects of family life.
